Spiders and scorpions
Some people keep spiders as pets. Big spiders, like tarantulas, live in glass tanks, also called a terrarium. They eat insects and like dark, quiet places. Many people feel afraid of spiders because of their hairy legs, fangs and quick movements. But pet owners say they are calm animals if you look after them in the right way. Some spiders can live in their owners’ homes for many years. Other people keep scorpions as pets. They need a warm tank and eat insects, but they can sting, so owners must be very careful.
