It’s Christmas time all over the world. Many people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Families and friends get together, exchange presents, sing songs, have special meals ... Check out how people in other countries celebrate Christmas!

England

In England, Father Christmas brings presents. He comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve (December 24) and leaves gifts for the children, usually in their stockings. The main celebration is on Christmas Day (December 25), when family and friends get together to celebrate Christmas. They usually eat turkey, vegetables, and Christmas pudding. In England, they also have Christmas trees and hang up pieces of mistletoe. When two people stand under a mistletoe, they are supposed to give each other a kiss - Merry Christmas!
