Civil Rights Movement

The Civil Rights Movement aimed to stop unfair and unjust treatment of black people in America. Martin Luther King Jr. won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his peaceful protests. Before him, Rosa Parks, a black woman, stood up against segregation in Montgomery, Alabama.
